Intergenerational Communication in the Workplace

A look at rethinking your company culture for the benefit of different generations!

When:

Wednesday 14th June 2023

2:00 – 3:00 PM BST

With the workplace becoming a multi-generational environment, effective communication has never been more important – or challenging. The generation gap between baby boomers, Generation X, and Millennials can lead to miscommunication, misunderstanding, and, sometimes, no communication at all.

This faulty communication can create generational conflict that slows production, reduces workplace enjoyment, and fosters distrust. But these communication hurdles can be overcome. A company culture that champions the values and viewpoints of each generation starts with an understanding of basic generational differences, biases, and communication styles.

We Have a Lot in Common

At the end of the day, we also have quite a lot in common. Our common traits include adaptability, ambition, respect, wanting to be heard, contributing, wanting recognition, and bringing a unique perspective. Each of us has something to share, and each of us has something to learn.

Join us for an introduction to Intergenerational Communication in the Workplace where we will look at ways of understanding how, and why, different generations communicate and rethinking your company culture for the benefit of different generations.

Please join us for an engaging, interactive, highly relevant, and fun 60 minutes.

We’ll look at:

  • Defining each generation and discuss the context of the styles that developed
  • Understanding of basic generational differences, biases, and communication styles
  • Educating on the differences in communication and how to embrace those differences

Hosted by:

Impact Factory Director and Co-Founder Jo Ellen Grzyb and Senior Training Consultant Katherine Grice
